Hey guys I just picked up a Voere Titan II and it seems to be a quality rifle. The bolt is silky smooth, the only slicker bolt I've seen is a husqvarna/Carl gustaf 1900.

It is however missing its rear sight, or part of it. I'm guessing it's just a dovetail blade or something? Anyone have any info or idea what I can put in there or where I can get it?

Here's a pic

You can try brownells for an aftermarket replacement. Just check the size of the dovetail. I'm sure they have something that will fit. I'm not sure where you could find an original. Numrich doesn't have anything for a voere titan. I doubt western gun parts will have a replacement either.

Sure I'll take a pic when I get home. The stock is meh so I'm just gonna use it as a shooter and then pick up a better stock in Sweden. There's a gun store over there that has a bunch of new and used stocks. I'll pick one up next month.

The function of the trigger and the instafire lock up make these unique and great rifles. My 270 is throated quite short but shoots excellent. Look forward to your pics

Interesting. I chambered a dummy round of 6.5x55 at the same length I use in my tikka t3 (3.170") which is quite long for 6.5x55 and it's not at the lands. I'll seat the dummy even longer to see where the lands are.

Here it is with my 1900 in 6.5x55. I'm gonna swap the scope between them and see which one is the better shooter.

Great rifles in a hard to find calibers
That's great you don't have length issues on the 6.5, you should really be able to maximize its performance beyond what is normal
Thanks for posting!

I haven't shot mine yet but I agree, they seem like very high quality rifles. Tradex had three of them in 6.5x55 but they sold. They were between 650-800. I paid a bit more for mine and it seems like I over paid a bit but it was still less than what I paid for my ruger gunsite scout and this seems like a much more refined rifle.

Can I see a pic of your 270? I remember a while back you posted a pic and it was damn near mint!

A bunch of pics of my 270 in this thread I linked. I would think that the uniqueness and rarity of these could easily justify paying more than you wanted to.
It's not like they're making anymore.

The matte oil finish seems to wear easier than a high gloss finish. A few small marks on it and some blue off the muzzle/bolt handle but not hunted very hard.

Thanks and thanks for the link.
What is the length of pull on yours? Mine is 14" with the pad on it. A touch long for me.
Have you considered refinishing your stock? It looks in good shape but maybe could be improved on with an oil finish to bring out the grain.

Mine was 14". Just had it cut to 13" yesterday. I've refinished a few stocks, I did the one on the husky in the pic I posted. For this one I'm just going to run it as is when I'm out in the field with it. I'm going to look at the stocks at the gun store in Sweden and if there any good ones I'll pick one up. Normally I'll shorten the stock myself with a miter saw but this one has a curved butt plate so I took it to a finish carpenter with a bandsaw. He cut the curve perfectly for a case of beer.

Fantastic rifles. Later sold as Mauser 99 and Mauser 200. The magazines are unobtanium. They are very accurate rifles and came with a 1/2" 3 shot group guarantee. IIRC mine was ~$2000 new in the mid 80's.

I was out at the range with it yesterday. It did not like my go to load with the 129 accubond long range. Neither did the 1900 in 6.5x55 in the pic above.

They both loved the 142 grain load I had on hand. The voere was about 1 moa (only got to try two 3 shot groups with the 142) and the 1900 did a .550" three shot group. I will have to load more 142s up. Norma MRP powder for the win!

I love how the Titan II points and handles without a scope so I might just run irons with it once I get that rear sight figured out. It just feels right.
