Does anyone have one? If so is it reliable and worth the money?
Also does anyone chamber a 22 short pre fit barrel or would i be stuck with a jump to the rifling?
 
Volquartsen sells the kit, so they may well make and sell the barrel. I highly doubt that anyone else would bother making a .22 Short barrel as the demand for such a thing is basically zero.

Hey brybenn..NONE of my business, but curious about why something like this would be desirable? Genuinely interested/not being a smarta**. I've never seen a single advantage to 22 shorts (unless running a tube mag, but even then..lol) but it's entirely possible that I'm missing something. I'm also not judging one bit, we all have itches that need to be scratched. :)

Its just something ive always wanted. A rifle chambered just for the short. My savage bolt action shoots them decently and reliability is excellent. I have a rossi 37 pump and a win 9422 so i always have shorts on hand.
The 1022 is such a money pit platform figure if i build one nobody wants ill likely keep it.
So i dont have a valid reason for wanting one. But i enjoy projects that keep my mind busy. The other day a damascus blank came in the mail and im planning on grinding it into a knife which i have no experience in doing. Just thought id be fun. Now i get to shop for tools i didnt know i needed lol. Mostly a stand alone belt sander
 
You won’t be able to find the kits, been looking for years(nobody has been getting in new stock). Vq is dumping( not producing ) their Firefly bolt(1000fps) on clearance on their site
 
I have a Hi Standard Olympic rapid fire pistol in short of course, love the thing and the trigger!
Ammo is the problem, cost more , I don't shoot it a bunch, neat in the informal steel challenge we run some times
I had a short in a lever action 50? yrs ago, used it all the time, very accurate gun .
I think 10/22 in short would be neat, if it worked.

Oh, I get it too. Allot of what I'm into makes zero sense to some of my buddies. Doesn't change how distractingly awesome the ideas are to me. :)
