So, part of my new years resolution is to get some cool toys, another part is to stop compromising with second, or third, or forth choice guns.

I'm on the search for a rimfire gun, and I'm enamoured with the idea of takedown rifles. The kind of thing I might have in a side scabbard on the side of my pack, or tucked away in a compact package.
As such, a few internet searches turned up the Volquartsen Fusion. Expensive, yes, but is it worth it? Is it a safe queen, will I be afraid to take it out for fear of it getting wet and melting?

Opinions, reviews? Anyone have any hands on experience with it?

for what ive put into my 10/22 with aftermarket Volquartsen parts i could have picked up a fusion already!

ive not shot one myself but i know that Mil-Arm can get one for ya.
will take a while to order it, but they can get it.

they where bugging me last time i ordered stuff and telling me that i could have picked up a custom gun from Volquartsen for what ive spent there on aftermarket stuff.
its sad when the guys at the gun store say that too ya.... cause ya know they dont wanna loose money yet they feel bad that your pouring good money after bad bumping up a stock gun. im sure if i had to put a % on how much of my 10/22 is still stock it would only be around 5%.
maybe a pin or a bolt.

after im done with my current 10/22 build (number 3) im going to pick up one straight from Volquartsen to compare it to what ive made.

Now begins the never ending struggle that is choosing 22lr, 22wmr, or 17hmr. Or all three.
The volquartsen website suggests something like 2300 retail for the rifle with all three barrels, does that sound accurate or will I expect to pay closer to 3000?

I had my eye on getting one of these this year in 17hm2, but they no longer list 17hm2 on there website. The 22lr/17hm2 is one model and 22wmr/17hmr is another model, so if you want to shoot the 3 calibers listed you will need 2 rifles.
