So apparently I missed this news coming out of shot show this year. Apparently PWS has sold their Summit design to Volquartsen and they may have fixed the few issues this action may have had. A straight pull action that is compatible with just about all Ruger 10/22 parts. I'm not sure why, but I am very intrigued by this design of action and the fact that it uses all the same gear as my other rifles.

I see these are now available for order? Think they are worth the $$?

I think so. A super unique rifle that accepts all 10/22 stocks. I’ll be ordering mine with the 12.3" Charger carbon wrapped barrel instead of the 16.5" barrel shown above. I’ll probably just get the barrelled action too as I have my own PWS Raptor stock for it, which is the stock that originally came with it when PWS was selling them.

I find myself really wanting one for some strange reason :)

I think it’ll be a great rifle. Sure it’s no Fortner but it doesn’t need to be. I like how I can choose whatever Vq barrel I want on there. I want it to look like my other 10/22, which has the Raptor stock and 12.3” barrel :d

Anyone have one of their carbon barrels? Is it a matt finish or more of a shine to it ?

I’ve got 2. I would call it mottled ,matte with shiny spirals. Spirals might not be the right word. Tha fibre is wrapped on an angle. In the direct sun it would be called shiny

x2. It’s kind of a matte with a sheen if that makes sense. It looks exactly the same as my Hardy CF barrel. The Volquartsen barrels are made in Germany (Lothar Walther?).
