Looking for anyone who owns a volquartsen 17 hmr or any other of their complete rifles. Thinking about picking one up and would like some user feedback. Thanks

I have a delux VQ in 17 HMR. Great gun and very accurate. Best accuracy is with Fed Premium ammo. Best 5 shot group is .45" at 100 yds... but average is around 1". Definately under 0.5" at 50 yds. I have owned the rifle for about 4 years and have put 1000's of rounds through it. The only negative thing that ever happened once the rifle fired while out of battery. This blew the clip out the bottom and sprayed crap all over the place. I wasn't injured and thankfully was wearing shooting glasses. To be truthful, I hadn't been very consistent at cleaning and oiling the gun. I checked the Internet and discovered that this was a real actively common problem. It was apperantly common with all the semi-auto 17 HMR's as well. I now keep the gun clean and oiled. Accuracy starts to drop off at about 100 rounds anyway. Also, I always wear eye protection and never lend the gun out or let anybody else shoot it. I like the gun so much, I'd buy it again. In fact I just purchased the VQ fushion take-down in 22 LR and really like it as well. I don't have enough trigger time to really evaluate that gun, however.

I own two, one in .17HMR and one in .22 lr. Not a single problem in either. HMR is a Deluxe with a McMillan sported stock, the .22 is a Lightweight and man is it nice to carry.
