A trip earlier this week saw me in Wolverine's physical store. After a period of frenzied impulse buying, I left with a whole bag of various Volquartsen parts; Trigger kit, hammer kit, buffers, new extracter, aong with other goodies.

I wasn't really unhappy with the SR22 trigger pull. It was quite heavy at 8 lbs, but it was smooth takeup and it broke cleanly. Since my wife shoots this gun almost exclusively when she comes to the range, I knew she would appreciate a lighter trigger on it. I dropped a couple of pounds on it with a really good cleaning and proper lubing with a high quality lube, but of course that only lasts as long as the lube does. She did notice that reduction and liked it a lot.

I was up early this morning so I tore it apart and changed out all the new parts. HO-LY CRAP!!! Amazing the difference it made! 1.7lbs pull on the trigger...HUGE difference. It breaks incredibly clean as well.
I had to take it out to the range to try it out, and I ran 200 rounds through it. Works perfectly, No FTL, FTE, FTF...nothing, just crisp, light trigger pull. I didn't make any measurements other than eyball ones, but my groups are tighter than before.

If anyone is on the fence about the value of doing this sort of work on a .22....Do It! It IS worth it, whether you're shooting for tight groups or shooting at beer cans. I've no experience with Kidd Trigger kits, but I'd expect comparable results from them

It wasn't cheap; $162.50 all in. No shipping since I picked it up, but it'll all fit in a small envelope anyway. We went back to the range today; the wife was anxious to try it out. She was already shooting really well with this gun, but I think her first five round group probably shrunk by 25-30%. I know mine did as well. I would not have believed I'd be saying this, but it is money well spent. The SR-22 is already far more accurate than any other 10/22 I've had, and this really adds a noticeable improvement to that

If you're impressed by that, wait until you try a full trigger group replacement from Kidd or timney.
It's a bigger step ahead from the drop in vq stuff than the drop in vq is from stock. No kidding.

Try a vq or Kidd barrel next, with some good lapua ammo, that'll be another mind blower for you...
