Vortex 1-4x24 PST

Vortex PST optics are almost impossible to come by it seems, especially the 6-24x50 stuff. Reason being they are having issues with the turrets; they are ####ed on many of them, or at least the 2 that have been in my hands.

I've also heard a non-CGN dealer say this as well.

Hmmm, haven't heard about the issues with the turrets before... so far I'm loving my PST 1-4. I was thinking of picking up one of the 6-24 models, but if there's been a lot of turret issues I may have to reconsider.

Like I said, Im waiting for #3 to show up. If it has turrets that function properly, everything will be fine. But I'm starting to become a little impatient with Vortex and am regreting my decision.

As far as I know they are hard to come by because the glass comes out of Japan. I've sold lots and never had one come back or break that I know of.

1-4x, I'm told they will be in short supply. I have lots of 4-16 and 6-24's here, I just haven't put them on the website yet.

The floods in Japan have taken their toll on the glass supplier. Quality control on Vortex products is very good. They will not ship a product that is sub-par.

2nd scope got here really fast, was pretty great experience.

Once I sent that one back, they told me that they had to send it to Vortex USA for inspection before they could send me #3. Not sure why but it's not at all to my liking. Eventhough it was not necessary, I put rounds down range to be sure the traking is totally messed. The windage didn't track at all and the elevation tracked on a diagonal, up and to the right.

Chemist - I imagine the 2.5-10x44 Cortex PSTs are in short supply as well? They seem like they would be a very popular scope. I'm looking for one of those for a different rifle as well. I see wholesale sports has the 1-4x24 PST, but personally, I'd rather blow my money at a place that supports our sport and our site....

I run several Vortex products: three strikefires, two sparcs and two Viper PST's (2.5-10 x44 & 6-24 x 44) with a third PST on the way. They all work great and I have absolutely no regerts what-so-ever. I have never ever heard any negative things about them.

Further to that when highly respected gunsmiths and dedicted LR shooters put them at the same level as Leupold (or better) that speaks volumes. I too would not be reluctant to say they are on par with my Leupolds for both quality and clarity.

That, at least, has been my experience with them.

Check with Heights Archery in Winnipeg. Ask for Jason. I was in there today and I think they have a 1x4-PST in stock

Another question for you Vortex owners, how would you compare ther Viper to the Crossfire line??? I need a new scope for my hunting rifle and I want a 24 power as 14 just doesn't cut it for me anymore. Both have the same warrenty but there's almost a $500 difference between the two and want to know if the Viper is worth the extra cash.

The glass on the Viper PST I had was very good in the morning. I could see everything much more clear through the scope in the early morning due to the high level of light transmision; it looked brighter through the scope than it did with the naked eye!

I haven't tried a Crossfire, but I bet the major difference is the glass quality/light transmission. Either way, the warranty is second to none, I'm just having issues with the product atm.

MRAD, and they won't send me one untill it has been inspected by Vortex USA. I'm not sure how many they have available or if they're holding one for me.
