Well I got the zeiss rapid z 600 , it was on sale and the only one they had. It's really clear. I put my cartridge in the calculator and got this. So if I chage the magnification ,that will change the POI ,with the sub tensions right? Is there a way to know how much? And if I zero at 100 instead of the prearranged 200 , is there a way to get the new sub tension POI.You need to find out which Rapid Z reticle it is. The Rapid Z Varmint is best suited to the .223. They will all work with the .223 but they won't all allow you to use near maximum magnification. You can run your load data here to get a better idea: h ttp://www.zeissrapidz.com/

I'll check it out for sure, looks kiinda like the zeiss calculater. I could also get a set of custom dials , which are pretty neat, but then I beleive the dials becomes dedicated to a specific cal and bullit weight,( in my case .223 53 g v-max) I guess you could. Not sure if that matters much . Probably no need for both any way... Thanks .... BrianGet the Strelok ballistic app for your phone. It can do all your ballistic calculations for you and will give you a picture of your reticle. It will calculate and show you the different subtensions(yardages) at the different magnifications. I heard iSnipe is good as well just haven't seen it. With strelok you can input any variable(velocity, wind, altitude, temp, zero, distance to target) and get a pic of your reticle showing your target and hold. You might need to buy the Strelok+ to calculate for any magnification(free only does manufacturers recommended) but for about $10 it is the cheapest and best upgrade to all your optics. You can save 7 different rifles each with their own scope and around 7 different loads for each rifle. And if you're setup for coyotes or targets you can input the local weather in your phone app to get even more precise.
Here is my Burris 3-9 with ballistic plex for example:

They list hundreds of scopes and reticles in the app, it can even help you choose your next scope.
I hope this helps,
Willy

At the very bottom of that calculator there is a Magnification Settings bar. You should be able to scale that back to the different magnifications available and it will change the POI at the hash marks for you, then write out a range card, buy a wrist band from Sunset Tactical that will hold a nice fancy picture of the reticle and your notes and you are good to go!! Nice choice with the Ziess. Great glass. Reticle is easy to use and gives you wind hold points of aim. Read up on the manual and it is a really beneficial reticle. Strelok is good to have in the field, but pre-planning is always the best. Happy hunting.
thanks, I tryed moving that red dot at the bottom, but it won't move for me.At the very bottom of that calculator there is a Magnification Settings bar. that's the plan.No need to over complicate this. Zero at 200 and use the required magnification for longer range hashmarks...that's all there is to it. Forget turrets and iphone aps. It doesn't get much simpler that having yardage indicated hashmarks to 600 yards at 10x
