Got to try my new combo out yesterday. Savage 9317 with the titled scope on top. Man am I impressed!!!

The other gun I was shooting was topped with a Zeiss conquest 3.5-10x44. We were jumping back and forth between the two guns, therefore comparing the two scopes. I have to say that in the full light conditions there wasn't too much difference.
The clarity or the Vortex left nothing behind the Zeiss. At around a third of the price I have to say, are you getting what you paid for?

Now, I sure hope there would be a big difference at dawn and dusk, but I didn't have the opportunity to try them in those conditions. I'm just saying that for the money spent, I thought there should be some big difference, which there wasn't.

I'll have to take them both out in the evening and see if the result is different.

I cheaped out on the vortex because it was going on a gun with mild recoil, and wasn't to be used in the dawn and dusk conditions. The Zeiss was going on my high power deer rifle that would be used predominantly at dawn and dusk. I don't want to get flamed for comparing apples to oranges, but this is what I saw.

I will have essentially the same setup as soon as I get my rifle back from the smith. It needed to get drilled and tapped.
Mine is a Savage MK II GL .22LR with same scope except I have the Diamondback with the AO feature. Your making me jealous! My trigger finger is soooo itchy!
