Vortex Crossfire 8-32X50 AO - Good for M14?

That is a LONG piece of optics. The problem with some M14 scope bases is they have a short mounting distance (clip guide to screw hole) and a long scope would rock that pretty hard. If your base has a set screw to bump against the receiver ring, that would be better. Or a very long base that would be better.

Are you planning to shoot it at 1000 yds? If so the 32X will come in handy, otherwise, for up to about 600 yds, something in the 10-18X should work fine. Bushnell makes a nice fixed 10X "Tactical" scope that is about the same price, but is much more compact, has external turret adjustments, and with probably better optics.

What are the longer M14 scope bases?

...

I can't remember the name, but there are some newer styles that extent the scope rail profiles from the clip guide across the top of the receiver and out along the barrel to the stock ferrule. These replace the top handguard. The one I can see in my mind's eye has a tongue on the side that connects to the screw hole. Another style is just about the same, except clamps to the barrel. I think sponsor FABARM in Montreal has something like these.

Have the Vortex Viper 3.5-10x50 and it work beautifully on my rig.

Although I think 32 power might be a tad over kill for this rifle. Mabye a bolt gun would suite this scope better
