Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x50 on a .22LR?

I've been casting about for a new scope for my .22LR rifle and have sorta-kinda-not sure settled on the Vortex Crossfire II
4-12x50 scope.

Reasons? I don't want to spend too much so $300-ish is fine, it has an adjustable parallax and I've had reasonable luck with Vortex scopes in the past.

That said, better safe than sorry. Anyone actually use this scope with a .22LR? If you have another recommendation I'm all ears. My requirements are:

• About $300 in cost
• Shooting anywhere from 25 to 100 yards, mostly at 50 yards
• Adjustable parallax

I've got a Crossfire II 6-18 x 44 on my .22 and have no issues with it. I shoot mostly at 50 yards.
Bought it for the adjustable parallax.

Athlon Neos 4-12X40 .22rimfire would be my choice for a budget scope.

I'm running a Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 on my Ruger American Target and its an absolutely phenomenal scope for the money (around $500). Buy once, cry once....

I ran the crossfire 2 but 4-16x50 scope. I changed it to a 4-16x44 diamondback tactical. Clarity of glass was the biggest issue for me.

i run a Bushnell Legend 6-18x50mm on a Marlin 795. awesome setup! nice and clear, great eye relief and eye box. side parallax. under 300.00

Bushnell 3-12x40 AR Optics is right on target with your budget and gives better value than the Crossfire. Adjustable Turrets, Side Parallax down to 10yrds, & Throw Lever built in. Check that the turrets align. They may not be right @ the hash mark so if you can go and see it in store or buy it from a place like Cabela’s with a great return policy. Bushnell Warranty is great from what I hear but I don’t know anybody that’s had to use it personally.

The Diamondback Tactical is worth stretching the budget......resale value is also very good.....

Just my 2c but even if you were to overspend a bit on glass you usually can get what you paid for it, if you decide you don't want it in the end. So I'd say spend to the limit and get the best available.

I've gone to the 4-16x44mm Crossfire II on my Savage MkII rifle, with the included bases and a pair of low 1" Leupold PRW rings the objective just barely clears the barrel. Nice package overall for punching paper.
