been looking at these and there are on budget with what im looking to spend on a scope that will be used on my .22 and AR15

will this scope work on both a STG 44 .22 and flat top Mossberg mmr hunter ?

i am going for long range with good zoom...any issues transferring this back and forth between guns?

is this a good all around optic for these guns?

also what do you guys suggest dead hold BDC of V PLEX?

thanks everyone sorry for the newby questions as i am a pistol shooter and just getting into rifles!

Honestly I would try to dedicate one scope per rifle. Switching back and forth will obviously require you to re-zero and also be a pain in the rear. The scope will 'work' on the rifles but might look a little big on the stg, but hey its your rifle. I have had good luck with my Vortex scopes (2 Vipers, 1 Diamondback). High magnification in a lower end scope usually results in a poor picture. High magnification needs better glass to avoid distortion and poor clarity. YMMV.

I have the exact scope in bdc reticle. It's a great scope for the 22lr as it has an AO. It tracks extremely well. Optical clarity is OK but that's fine for target shooting. The v plex reticle sucks as its way to thick for any serious target work. I wouldn't recommend it on an AR.

Ok so you are saying go for the BCD rectile? As I am intending on using this for target shooting......and what do you mean it has an AO?

While I've had great lick with my PSTs and Gen II Razor, I had the AO come right off while adjusting. For the price I'm not even sending it back for repair and it sits in the never to use bin. Your luck may vary.

I had a Crossfire 2 that was on a .22 that I switched over to a .22 Mag. After about 10 shots the 12 o'clock cross hair was sitting at 2 o'clock.

The cross hair rotated inside the tube not on the mounts.

I was going to buy the 6-24 but I ended up buying the 6-18, as I read somewhere that the Parallax wasn't true past the 18x magnification anyways. I think the 6-18 was also almost a $100 less when I bought mine.

BDC reticle is much thinner for target work.AO is adjustable objective for setting your parallax, depending on what your distance is

I have a few of the crossfires in 4-12 not a overly impressive scope. Might find a better optic onsale

For the .22 I wanna be able to hit dimes at 50 yards on the stg 44 .22 and with the ar15 at 100 yards....so this is not possible with this scope?
