I just purchased a Vortex crossfire II red dot from Cabelas. This red dot sight has 11 illumination levels. Noticed there was no dot at low levels from 1 to 3 at all. I tried three new batteries, all the same. I turned off the lights in the room, total darkness, still see no dots. The lowest level I can see dots is level 4. Has anybody else having the same issue, or is mine defective?

Sometimes batteries from manufacturers can be different thickness not allowing the battery to make proper contact once the cap is screwed on, I had the same issue with my SPAC 2. Sunbeam thickness 3.0mm/ Lijia thickness 3.3mm/ Duracell thickness 3.1mm. If all else fail use the VIP warranty contact Vortex Canada, they will help you out.

If it’s a newer model it likely the night vision setting so you won’t see a dot unless paired wit NV. My Aimpoints are the same

LJC is correct, the 2019 Crossfire The 2 MOA dot is quick to acquire in close-quarters, while remaining fine enough to promote pin-point accuracy at extended range. With a 50,000 hour battery life and night-vision compatibility at the lowest two settings, the Crossfire red dot will keep working in a variety of conditions

Thanks! It is the latest model made in 2019. The level 1 and 2 has N prefix. I emailed Vortex support and they confirmed level 1 and 2 are not visible and level 3 is barely visible. Maybe my eyes getting old, as I can't see the dot at level 3. But this is fine, I'm happy now.
