Hello all, I'm seeking some advice again. I ended up getting the TC pro hunter that I've always wanted in .223. At the time I didn't get a scope for it so just for kicks I bought a red dot for it. But now it is time to get a bit more serious with it and start looking to hit some targets up to 400m with it. I'm looking at a Vortex crossfire II 4-16 x 50. Its in the right price range for what I want to spend. I know there are better out there and I'm hoping that there are worse. There is also a Nikon prostaff5 3-10x40 that is in the same ball park, but with some current sales, the Vortex is about 70$ less. The Nikon has nicer glass but the higher manifiacation is something that will be nice for longer targets. There are also a couple of used one here in the equipment exchange.
Any thoughts on the matter. Will I want more than 16 magnification? is 16 too much would the 10 be better? I dont' intend to hunt with this.
Thanks for your input.
