Hey guys.
I'm planning on putting some new glass on a deer rifle. it's a Ruger M77 Hawkeye, chambered in .308win. I own a Vortex Viper HS-T, that I've had on a target rifle for a few years now, and am pretty happy with it, but I'm wondering what their lower end glass is like?

I've typically stuck to Leupold's VX-2 line, but they've replaced that (as well as the VX-1) now with the VX-Freedom. I'm not yet sure what to think of these scopes yet, so figured I'd look at other options. I've read a lot of good about the Vortex Diamondback lineup, so was wondering if anyone has some first hand experience with these and how they stack up against a Leupod VX-2 or Zeiss Terra 3x scopes.

Also open to other options, my budget is up to about $600

Thank you for the input

The diamond back i had didnt last 3 shots on my 458wm. The crossfire and viper also failed

Id look at ziess conquest or bushnell legend ultra hd or 4500 elite series. Nikon has nice glass as well

Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting a good clearance deal on a Leupold VX-2. It's just a .308, so I didn't need anything to put up with heavy recoil. I'm pretty happy with the setup now though.
