I'm looking for a Vortex flash hider to go on an AR-10 so 7.62mm. Does anyone know where you can get one of these in Canada?

Also having read a few of the other threads, are the Dlask copies any good? Looks like they don't come in 7.62.

Thanks

I've got a few Dlortexes (as another member called them :D) albeit in 5.56. They look good and work just like the originals. I can't say how they compare physically to the Smith original, as I've never seen one.

Mine are all beefy enough to bore out for the 7.62 if unavailable from Jo. Although the .45ACP seems to be sure he does...

The possible incompatibility is not the bullet bore of the FH,
but the muzzle thread.

I think only the AR15 has 1/2"-28 threads,
the AR10 may have 9/16"-24 or sumpin.

(PS: On a different note, most of the M14, M305, etc.,
that were shortened by Dlask and some other shops in Canada,
have 1/2"-28 threads at the muzzle exactly for that purpose:
to accept AR15-specific muzzle attachments,
with little or no modifications at all to the said attachments).

I've used the $25.00 Vortex knockoff, both on 5.56 and bored out and installed on an M305. Standard 1/2 x 28 thread. Shot at night, it eliminated the muzzle flash as well as the true, more than $100 Smith Vortex. Save your money for ammo.
