If being there in person gave any advantage for the one item I want, I'd be there.

I forget last year's: wasn't it online only at 9am Prophet River local time (MDT) and in person was irrelevant?

We will do this one at 10 AM Mountain time(Alberta), it looks like. Being in store will likely be a disadvantage. Slower than online by a fair bit.

Yes. Having it the cart means nothing. You MUST have the order finished and completed.

Last year I tried to put two items in my cart and in the time that took I got nothing (about 25 seconds from start to hitting finish button). The best option is get that one thing you must have and then check out and finish the transaction immediately.

A few hints:

1. Remember, the item is not yours unless it is checked out. It is not yours just because it is in your cart. So, plan accordingly.
2. There are ways to check out quickly using autofill and paying by EMT. The EMT order is considered 'checked out' once you select it and complete. As ,long as the EMT is here in 24 hours, the item is yours.
3. If trying for multiple items you may want to buy one at a time, it takes longer to load the cart with more than one. If you do go back and get a second or third item, select 'in store pickup' for those orders. (so, its free shipping) and we will combine with the first order that you paid shipping on.
4. If you have other regular items you want you can either do #3 or have those items already in your cart before the vortex sale goes live.
5. If you wish to pay credit card but you are worried you may lose the item while you are entering it, there is a credit card option for calling in to store later. This option MAY be quicker for you. Please don't call in right away as we only have four phone lines. The item is yours once you checkout, payment can come later.

EDIT #2:
The sale will be Saturday at 10AM (Alberta time) So, for those in NL, it will start at 1330, those in the Maritimes, 1300, those in QC and Eastern ON, at 1200, those in Western ON and MB at 1100, and those in BC at 0900. Of course that is a general description as there are always a few parts of each zone that are a different time. (ie, SE BC) Those in SK, be careful as some are AB time and some (most) are an hour different. As well, those in the North, will likely know which zone they are part of :)
Will will give the countdown , so to speak, Saturday morning a few hours before hand so no one misses out but thinking it is a different time.
