I know that Vortex has a pretty stiff pricing policy and that their prices are exactly the same across the country. But does it happen that Vortex ''authorizes'' rebates during certain times, like black friday/cyber monday or boxing day for exemple? It seems like every time there's a site wide xx% off it always says ''Excepted on Vortex products''...

the only time Vortex authorizes additional discount pricing to their dealers and agents is if the product is discontinued and they are depleting that inventory item. A dealer will get an extra discount if they purchase more of the discontinued item or if they have them in stock they will not be held to MAP (Manufacturer Asking Price) which is below MSRP. any authorized Vortex dealer that is found to be selling current catalog, active inventory product below the VORTEX MAP may have their contract with Vortex voided.

Except the answer in incorrect. MAP means Minimum Advertised Price. You can sell it for whatever you want, you just can't advertise it for sale below a certain amount.

I bought a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 on a Black Friday sale in Canada from my LGS. They only advertised some items with pricing, I'm sure okie doked by Vortex, the rest they discounted by 15%. The SE was not advertised with a price but I got the 15% off price which brought it in @$350.
