Vortex or Holosun Red dot ?

I used my Vortex Sparc II this year hunting with it for the first time . Big issue with it was that once it got cold all of the control buttons became really stiff and wouldn't work. Common problem with them I have read.

I have 3 sparc ar 1 sparc 2 and a 3x spitfire. Most have thousands of rounds through and they have been run hard. I have yet to have a single failure with them or any other vortex product.

Good day,

I use a couple of the lesser expensive Vortex Crossfire 2MOA Red Dots. Occasionally, some magnum calibers has affected dot operation. Periodically having to rotate the power dial forward and back to illuminate the dot again (not frequent enough to be a nuisance). I would purchase more of their products based on my experiences - Cyber Monday is approaching. :)

Hope this helps!

Another great option is the Sig Sauer Romeo 5

I was really thinking hard about picking up a Holosun when Tenda just had them on sale but I kept thinking about my Romeo 5 and how good it has been so I hesitated and didn't end up getting the Holosun. It worked out good because FOC put the Romeo 5 on for $225 so I went and grabbed one.

Either way, you are getting a Holosun :)

I am an owner of a Sparc AR, HS510C and HS507C, all have been excellent for me but unless I was going to pony up for the Vortex AMG UH-1 I'll continue buying Holosuns.
Shake awake, auto brightness, light weight, field of view, EoTech reticle and solar.

Whats not to like?

Romeo 5 = Made by Holosun.

Either way, a Holosun is a fantastic red dot for the money. I have had Vortex Sparc's and did not like them. Had a Vortex 3x prism scope. Not terribly impressed. Had a Vortex 3X magnifier, not terribly impressed either.

Update: You gotta love the warranty program from Vortex as I sent mine in due to the buttons freezing up when cold .I had a new replacement one on the way back to me within a couple days !!
