Vortex prices jumping up

Tangent Theta pretty much takes the “Priciest” scope on the market, however look through one and you’ll understand why. Plus made right here in Canada!!!

I'm waiting to see what's happening with Apex Optics out of Calgary AB, they are supposedly working on a hunting LR scope.

A few less greedy little fingers by purchasing direct, or so they claim. :)

I'll believe it when I see it, in an industry renowned for vapor ware

I hear you.
But big competition series definitely disagree. Vortex has dominated the professional competition ring the last few years , now the us military too.
Maybe you're right and this sizeable community votes irrationally with their wallet.

You're not alone ..... The EE is chock full of Vortex scopes for sale.

There are a lot of Vortex sold. Mostly cheap junk people want to believe are pro level optics for a few hundred $$. People choke on the price of decent optics. Not a huge volume of Razors getting sent back. There is a new wave of fanboys pushing Arken, Delta etc. and related brands with a few sales outlets that look like they are made in the same factory as Vortex and Athlon.

never kept vortex that i got for trades: they may work for some but not at all for me.

I've never used one ...... A while back I bought a NIB Vortex off the EE. Before I used it I noticed how many there were FS and wondered why.

I sold it. Don't need the hassle, whether percieved or real.

Not been happy myself with a crossfire II 2-7x32. Had great glowing reviews, BUT when compared to the cheap bushnell banner 2 3-9x40 (on my savage A22), the crossfire is cloudy. Additionally I don’t know what the fixed parallax is set to but it’s a MESS at 25 yards. I liked the crossfire for its smaller profile on my Savage Mark ii FV but I’d rather have something that works so Picking up another cheap Bushnell banner 4-12x40 (same scope I have on my .223 rifle) for it.

Vortex 4-12x40 Diamondback works just fine for some of us and I am by no means a marksman.

I have owned almost every brand of scope out there. From $39.95 to $5000. There are good and bad in most things in life and most products. I own or have owned all Vortex scopes from the Diamondback to the Razor and everything in between. Bought my first one a year after they started in business. I own spotting scope as well as binos and some red dot pistol optics. I havent had one warranty claim or any kind of failure. I think the majority of the problems are band wagon jumpers or uneducated fools that think theyre gunsmiths, hence all the damaged tubes on the EE. No brand will stand up to improper mounting or junk hardware attching it to the firearm. Nice shooting AlbertaJohn

People are fooling themselves if they believe other scope manufacturers aren't going to raise their prices soon. Inflation is skyrocketing in North America.

Yes let's keep blaming inflation, and ignore the corporate greed. Currently a diamondback tactical 4-16x44 is $499 at Cabelas. If that goes up by $100, that's a 20% increase. If a basic 3z9x40 model goes up $100 from the current $359 that's a 28% increase. Inflation is sitting at what, 5%?

Gas prices are at their highest prices in years. Chevron made $15.6B in profits in 2021. That's not inflation, that's price gouging. McDonald's made $7.5 billion last year, but prices are going up and they'll tell you they have to raise prices due to inflation and increases in minimum wage.

Inflation is very much a thing, but these companies are using that as excuse to increase prices way beyond what inflation accounts for, and lots of people are blaming the government rather than corporate greed. It's kinda sad really...

Much better scopes out there and decent price point - they may have warranty but the optics are junk. You can't get better than German or Japan glass. For price point, clear glass and just really good scopes, I use Leupold.

A lot of the hate Vortex gets I believe is due to them having several product lines of various quality. Zeiss IMO was foolish to release the Terra line for that same reason. You're not getting Razor glass for crossfire money, much the same you're not getting V8 glass on a Terra.
Someone that bought a Terra thinking their getting the legendary Zeiss optical clarity is mistaken, and might think bad about Zeiss based on that, enter Vortex.

I have many different scopes from a lot of the big name boys and simply put, I would not buy a Vortex lower than the PST line.
