I've had a PST with FFP and I'm now using a Nightforce NXS with SFP. The idea of always correct reticle subtensions with FFP is great in theory but in practice it's not really so. A FFP reticle is so small an min zoom that it's practically unusable. You'll find you're only really going to be using the subtensions at max magnification. This is why I switched to SFP. I have no use for subtensions unless I'm at max zoom.
If you were to range targets you would also probably be at max zoom. If you don't need to zoom in on your target it's probably not far enough to need ranging. Also, sometimes with FFP reticles when you zoom in they become quite thick, covering too much of the target. This is only an issue at greater distances. YMMV.
