I want to get this optic, but I'm curious if I'll be able to use to to see bullet holes on paper at 50-100 yards due to the fact 27x is its minimum magnification, which is overkill for this close up. I'm not experienced with spotting scopes, so sorry if this post seems silly.

I plan on shooting at 1000 yards one day and using it for watching nature over a mile away.

Was just wondering if 50-100 would be so close up, I wouldn’t be able to even see the target

Save yourself a boatload of money and go with the Viper HD. I debated about this a lot, and through reading and watching many reviews, the optical difference is negligible, and the only "major" difference is the Razor is about 10oz lighter and slightly more compact. Unless size and weight are huge factors for you, the Viper is basically just as good.

Your fears of "not being able to see the target" are unfounded. I don't know what you would think that at all.

Save even more and get a Celestron from CT. I have an older one (5-6 yrs) 25-75x65mm and I can see .223 at 180 yds (longest at my range) and see .177 pellet holes at 50yds. At present CT has several in that mag range around $200. I'd go for the highest mag you can find (order) unless you Never will want 200yds. YMMV but I'm very satisfied with mine. It's angled (you should get that 4sure)and zoom mag. Also, you should get a good, heavy tripod so it doesn't wiggle when you touch it.

I’m considering this scope as well as my one scope for everything. I just can’t seem to find another scope that can do everything (LER, Zoom & Reticle options)
