So I've got one of the old style Viper 6-24x50. Ever since I bought it the magnification ring was stupidly hard to turn (I mean grunt and groan while trying to turn it). I tried everything to get it to loosen up.

I finally gave up on it today and packaged it up for warranty. They state it will go to Ontario first and then if it needs work, off to the US of A. Turn around time approximately 4-6 weeks they claim.

Lots of us have used the Vortex warranty.

While scope failures are never fun, Vortex has always provided solid warranty support.

My Nightforce and Schmidt & Bender scopes have never failed, but if they do, they'll be out of warranty (ouch).

Nightforce is life-time warranty and their service department is staffed with intelligent people, a cut above as is their product. We coordinate warranty claims even if not purchased from us.

Best regards,

Peter

Thanks Peter - was not aware of lifetime warranty for Nightforce, but totally aware of your steadfast support!

My Nightforce gear is as rock-solid as the day I bought it!

Yeah that's good to hear. At first I was like wtf a scope of that value doesn't have a lifetime warranty!? I don't expect everyone to have a vortex style no questions asked, even if you dropped it out of your tree stand we'll fix it warranty, but a regular warranty is very desirable.

I've only used Vortex Warranty twice since they first came into Canada. The first was when my scope fell off my bench and broke the lens. This is the second. So I am happy with the quality for the price. I really can't justify nor afford $3000+ for optics on my rifles.
