what is the difference between the razor and the pst? the pst looks like a great deal.

not much price difference between that and the NF then...

Is there ANYONE (I'm pretty much asking the whole internet here) who has a review of the Razor HD 1-4x24? I'm quite interested in the combination of features and the reticle, but I have yet to find much information about it.

I'd rather not be the first one to buy try and cry, so pony up the info!

As you can see from the picture above, I have one.

Yes, I'll probably be biased but here are my thoughts on it...

When I started shooting I ran Bushnell all the time until I could afford afford Nightforce. I went Nightforce because I could get more features at the same price as some of the Leupolds.

I sold my Nightforce a few years ago to help fund my business, but been eyeing the 1x4 lately to put on my SL8.

Then I started carrying the Vortex line. After looking through the 1x4 Razor and seeing the features on it, I lost all thought of getting the NF 1x4 and went with the Razor 1x4.

I've had it to the range a few times so far and I'm very impressed with it. I would put it up against the NF for quality and features any day. The Razor line is made in Japan and I'm told it's German glass, which is extremely clear.

The retical is quite good for short and long range. I have no problem hitting targets 50yds away quite rapidly and then hitting targets at 200yds.

The retical doesn't wash out at short range but still fine enough at longer ranges.

Right now it's sitting in the store on a black gun if you want to see it (if your around this area). It switches back and forth between that and my SL8 and has held zero.

$1399 for the Vortex Razor HD 1-4x?

Dude, I got to look through the scope on Saturday. The glass looks at least as good as the NF 1-4 I used for the Carbine course, and with my eyes, looks like a true 1x. And it's a very solid, well-built piece.

So taking all other factors out of the equation, the quality of the glass looks like it's definitely worth the price.

I'm thinking of giving one of these a try once I get a bit more disposable cash built up again.

You working tomorrow? MR crew will be in town so I may need to vent.

I have a meeting at HQ in the AM with an A/Comm (good kind of meeting, more of a friendly hello than meeting, :p), then its kind of an open day. I'll have my work bb with me, so call or email any time after 1030 EST.

The Viper PST is supposed to be comparable to Leupold VX3 glass from what I've heard. I'll be looking to get one for my XCR when they finally ship.
