Before I pull the trigger on purchasing a vortex tactical 4x16x44. Does anyone know if there on sale anywhere by any chance.. the wife already owns one ball from the 700pcr I got last week. I would like to keep the other.

Thanks,
D

I’ve owned a few vortex optics now and haven’t had any problems and quite enjoy their quality for the price. That being said I have bought all of my vortex optics in the last year and half so maybe their quality is better now than it was

All the guys I know who run vortex spotting scopes like them. As for the rifle scopes, specifically the tactical line, I haven’t heard a lot about.
Warranty wise, both vortex and Leopold both have life time warranties and I know Leopold at least are very good.
Sales, I feel I see vortex binoculars and hunting scopes on sale at cabelas not the tactically line as much.

I must be lucky because I hear all kinds of stories of Vortex being junk and plagued with problems. Im old and have shot all forms of firearms for close to fifty years. I have owned just about every brand of scope made from the $69 dollar tasco to the upper end Zeiss.Swaro ETC. At present I own 9 optics made by Vortex as well as others by different companies. Two razor gen 11s in 4.5-27 one in 3-18,razor red dot,two Viper gen 11s 5-25,two Viper 6.5-20and 4-12 and a Razor spotting scope. I shoot competitively and crank the elevation and windage up and down relentless and have not had any tracking issues or any other malfunctions. I think a lot has to do with improper use and piss poor installations with cheap rings and unqualified people thinkin theyre gunsmiths. Look at the ee and see all the scopes with pinched tubes. Big difference between crushing the tube and faint trace of ring location. Quality rings are matched pairs and only require 18 inch pounds of torque, not foot pounds, torque whats that? I think ur probably following my drift.

I have every rifle equipped one way or another with Vortex, rangefinder, sporting scope, ect (minus one Leupold). Never had a problem other than me crushing a tube, that they replaced in 10 days. Very pleased, keeps me coming back.

To answer the question, no I don't know of a place that has them on sale.

I would surmise that Vortex rigidly controls advertised pricing as prices are near identical across the board: even retailers that put on decent sales don't include Vortex in that list. That said, sometimes you find 'free shipping' promotions, and I have walked into unadvertised sales at stores such as a blanket 20% off everything. Hopefully someone on here can chime in with a place that has a current promotion.
