Just curious!!! What do the folks at Gunutz have to say about these scopes?? Do they see any use in F-class???

Thanks much for your comments!

I am not completely sure what F class requires, or the rules and limitations, but I have used the Vortex Viper out to 300 yards with great success. I have played with it a bit beyond that distance (no shootinig, just looking) and it holds it focus, clarity, and colour very well. I believe it would work very well for most distances.

Where are you located?

I love how it say's "American Ice"

I've used my Viper 6.5-20 X 44 at 300m and 500m at the KTSA ranges in F class, and look forward to trying it out at 900m. As it's my first scope, I can't compare it to others, and obviously there are better scopes out there, but for the money, it's a damn good scope with an unbeatable warranty.
I'm definately on a budget, and this scope fit my wallet quite nicely. I chose the dead hold BDC reticle, and it works well for me. I would not recommend the target dot reticle: the cross hairs are nice and fine, but the dot is too large and obscured the target.
Since the changeover to the ICFRA targets, the v-bull is getting hard to see, so I've been putting the v-bull in the upper right quadrant of the cross hairs. It seems to be working.
You can check out your reticle choices at the Vortex site. Oh, and welcome to F-Class!

Good to know about the target dot. I was wanting to get a similar scope with the target dot as I have a target dot reticle in my Leupold Vari-X II 6-18x44 and I like it a lot but am wanting to upgrade to a larger magnification and objective lens and the Vortex looks promising.

I've played with their binos and found them fantastic quality and I hear the same with their scopes.

My main concern though was reticle thickness for obscuring small targets at longer ranges or really small targets at shorter ranges (like a thumbtack at 100yds, which I can see right now with my current setup)

The BDC Dead Hold reticle's thickness isn't an issue when I use it the way I do, but ideally, Vortex should offer one with the thinness of the target dot's crosshairs. That would make for an awesome scope.
