Vortex scopes

I believe the glass is the same - the difference will be reticles and turrets, with PST line having target (uncapped) turrents and more 'tactical' or non-hunting type reticles.

You can check on the vortex optics website and do side-by-side comparisons of the different scopes.

Thanks for the reply picking a scope is a big decision in my little world I,v looked at lots of scopes bushnell elite 6500 the nikon monarch and vortex viper the 6500 being the top of my price point at 779 my shooting will be a coyoties with a 22-250 what kind of scope would you recomend?

Personally, I'd go with a Viper with 6.5-20 or something like that. Ever since i got my Viper binoculars ive been sold on vortex stuff. Just bought a 1-4x Razor HD too!

Keep in mind that scopes won't be 'as clear' when on max magnification. That's why I'd suggest something with 20x, even if you think you'll only go up to 12 or 15x in most scenarios. Might be flawed logic on my part.

Cheaper than the 6500, and I would bet every bit as good of glass.

Can't really go wrong with Nikon either. With glass, you usually get what you pay for, so just don't cheap out with a Tasco. :)

I just bought a 6.5x20-50 with the dead hold bdc reticule for my .308 Tikka tactical...Already have a Crossifre 8x32-50 and love it

All Vortex optics are made in Asia, it's why they can be sold as cheaply as they can.

LMAO!!

True, but Japan is part of Asia as well, were a number of high end optics are made.

Razors are made in Japan. I'll check tomorrow at the store where the Vipers and Viper PSTs are made.

Thats true.

The Viper line of scopes and up are manufactured in Japan. The scopes under that are made in China, Taiwan, Philippines, etc along with their RDS line.

The big difference with Vortex is even though they have some of their line made "cheaply", they have quality controll in their business in the US.

As far as I know the Viper is made in the Philippines.

I have one and it seems to be a great scope, I'll be picking up a PST when they become available.

Check out the Votex warranty....can't ask for any better than that!

I am wonder where people are finding the best deal on the Vortex line? I am looking at a new scope and am just looking to see what the difference in price is out there.

According the the Vortex rep I spoke with last summer the Viper PSTs are made in Japan. I thought he said the rest of the Vipers are made in Indonesia, but I'm not sure.

Really? Wow they changed that. Vortex stated when they first released the Viper line that they were made in Japan

And this somehow constitutes a problem for you?

How many have you used and what scopes have you compared them to? What rifles have you used them on? (airsoft not included)

Just wondering, cause I've talked to a few guys in the US using them and they are thrilled with the quality.

These are guys who have used NF, S&B, US Optics etc. so they have a little understanding of quality.
