Wondering if anyone has tried the vortex sparc on the CZ858. Considering mounting one on my BC tactical aluminum rail. Let me know your thoughts and if there is anything I need to be concerned about. Thanks for your time.

I've had mine for about a year now and shot 500 rounds with it. I took a course with Earl at OST this summer and it ran fine overall. However, the 4 screws on the base became loose about half way through the course and screwed up my zero. You need to check those screws once in a while, re-apply some locktite if needed and you'll be good to go.

It comes with a couple of spacers so you can fit it on pretty much anything and you'll be able to get the right height.
I think it's rated for up to .338 Lapua.

I love mine.

I simply can't decide between the SPARC and Bushnell.

I do however like the reviews of the SPARC since the dot is only reported to wash out in high sunlight conditions.

I had my Vortex Strikefire quit on me. I wanted another red dot anyways so I picked up a Sparc while my Strikefire is getting fixed. I haven't had the chance to try it yet but it got some decent reviews and passed some tough torture tests. It seems pretty quality for the money.

I have two Bushnell TR25's and a Sparc.

Should have spent the extra money ($50.00) and purchased Vortexs instead of the TR25's. I just went through a rifle operator's course and it held up fine with no loss of zero or brightness issue.

X2. I also have both and the SPARC is clearly superior, and worth the extra cost.

I have a SPARC on my VZ58 in .223 and a TRS-25 on my CZ858. The SPARC is definitely bright, but it is not able to mount as low as the TRS. Personally, the rheostat on the TRS is more to my liking, and the 2032 batteries are much easier to come by than the 2354 that the SPARC needs. Both units offer very good battery life. The TRS has a more solid mounting option, but the SPARC comes with a pile of spacers to mount at different heights. As others have said, use locktite though (which you should with all optics).

The TRS is smaller than the SPARC, if that means anything to you. I have never had a problem with a TRS and would buy another in a heartbeat if I needed another optic of that type. I would really like to try a Zeiss Z point though when money is a little more plentiful. I have not had the TRS's dot wash out on my in sunlight, but maybe I have not encountered the right conditions yet. I will admit that the SPARC is bright and I was out shooting it this week in bright sunlight with snow on the ground and had no problem. That is the real test of a red dot to me.

Can't go wrong either way in my books. There are some really good deals on TRS's these days too.
