Vortex SPARC or Lucid HD7 or Aimpoint Micro H1 for an AR

I've been debating with myself for a while now over which red dot to go with for my AR and it's gotten to the point where I’m a bit overwhelmed with all the choices.

Recently I have narrowed it down to Vortex SPARC, Lucid HD7 or to spend a little (a lot) more and get an Aimpoint Micro H1. (Trijicon is too pricey for me and I prefer the physical design of the Aimpoint over the Eotech models).

Been reading some good reviews regarding the Lucid HD7 and considering it's half the price of the H1 I’m leaning more towards it. I'm unfamiliar with the SPARC so if anyone has some feedback on that, it would be much appreciated.

Things to note:
- I'm a casual shooter so there won't be 1000 rounds going through my AR a week.
- Looking for low maintenance (a sight that'll keep its zero even if in the safe for a month or longer)
- does not need to be NV compatible
- I wear glasses when shooting (I've heard the Aimpoint design can give people with Astigmatism trouble if they're not wearing their prescription glasses)

Any opinions/comments/concerns?

Thanks for your time.

I should also add another question...

Am I shooting myself in the foot (no pun intended) if I choose a lower end (i'm assuming they're lower end based on price and less well known) models rather than the Aimpoint or Trijicon type models?

I don't want to replace the sight for a number of years so i'm looking for something durable.

I'm currently running an Aimpoint Micro on my AR and have been asked to run a Lucid on my NEA rifle for a few courses and provide a write up on it.
The Lucid seems like a good deal for those who run a rifle casually for plinking or personal training. I'll abuse it a bit and see how it holds up.

I have the Sparc, Lucid HD7 and an Aimpoint ML3. They're all very good. I do like the Sparc for its small size. The Lucid is bigger and I like the changeable reticles. Overall though...Aimpoint. It does the job, I've not changed the batteries in ages and it can take some serious abuse. That's not to say I'm not an ACOG whore...love them like crazy!

It looks like you are looking at 1x red dot type optics. That being the case, the Trijicon equivalent would be their RMR optic. These are priced much lower than the Aimpoint T-1. They are quite light and very strong. They might be worth looking at.

Have an HD7. Holds zero, glass is very clear, good and affordable accessories available (magnifiers..waiting for the 2 x screw in magnifier) and I really like the auto bright feature and the choice of 4 reticles...
Can't beat all of the features for under $300 imo.....

There's an amazing warranty on all of these optics....can't go wrong with any of them!!

Thanks for the info guys!

I decided on the Lucid HD7 for now. (already placed the order through ammo source and should be arriving today. Thanks Ryan).

If it at all matters to you, the Lucid HD7 is made in China......I know it is an American company and it does not say they are made in China on there web site but they are. I know I was disappointed when I saw that little sticker on it, if I would have known I probably would have went in another direction:mad:

Every single person ive showed my HD7 to so far always asks where they can buy one.Id take my Lucid over my Sparc any day(sparc has already died in under 500 7.62x39 rounds and has to be sent back for warranty)For the Price of the Lucid and with the warranty they offer the HD7 cant be beat in that price range.Good job bringing these ones in S&J.
