Has anyone used one or seen one and can give a little review or opinion of it? Since they are new, there arnt many online reviews about them. I have one on order and it should arrive next week. I wanted a strikefire since they are all the rage, but being that they are all sold out in Canada and wont be availble until July I upgraded and went with a Sparc. I just hope it was a good decision.:runaway:

Here's a review of it on ar15.com, http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=488888 . It seems to be of decent quality and it has a limited lifetime warranty. I'm also thinking of picking one up. Where did you order yours?

Purchased it from Grouse River. Man they really beat the s**t out of the Sparc in that review. Its beyond me why Vortex would bother with a warrenty if they are that indestructable.

I have one mounted on my Buckmark.

It works really well.
I compared it to my open-sight Sig Mosquito at the range.
Both are sighted in at 10m using a 4" dot target.
Both shoot in the 4" dot all the time at 10m but the Sig has quite better groups.
I would say this is because the Sig is much lighter and easier to control.
At 25m both still shoot in the 4" dot 100% of the time but the Buckmark has better groups.
I would say it is because the Sparc is so much easier to aim where I have to do a little guessing with the open sights.

The Sparc is really well built, is bright enough so works well in sunlight, is light weight and has very nice push-button controls.

The Sparc is much, much better than the cheap clones and NcStar stuff (I have them too).

I would like to get another one for my AR.

Where would one pick something like this up?? and for how much? the AR15.com review said it was $200 but is this the same for us up North of our Southern neighbours?

thanks,
Josh

oops, nvm disregard my previous post...I just saw the grouse river site! I really want one but does anyone have pictures of one mounted on an AR? Is it pretty much the same as an aimpoint? It almost looks like a handgun optic...

Thanks,
Josh

Well...I just broke down and ordered one to replace my crappy Sightmark (Aimpoint clone)...if it lives up to the reviews I'll be one happy camper (as will my SR22). Grouse River seems to be the place to order from...

Did you order the regular one or the one made for AR-15 Mounting? Just curious as I may also top my SR22 off with one of these in the near future. Please post back with a review of how it works out on the SR, especially with respect to the height of the included rings/base etc.

Edit: sorry looks like it was the strikefire that had separate models for AR15 and "normal" still interested in how it works out.

Mine arrived already...wow that's fast!! Anyhow, it comes with the risers, 2X magnifier, screws and an extra battery (only needs 1). I mounted mine on my SR22 in the mid-height configuration (sorry no pics as I don't use online photo services). I haven't had a chance to use it at the range as I was out all day today. I'll probably get there in the next day or two to sight it in and test it out. So far though, it is night and day above the old Sightmark (Aimpoint clone) it is replacing. The dot is nice and bright and easy to see. All the buttons function as they should (including the NV one). I'm concerned with battery life/recoil resistance so hopefully all is well. Also, to note, you don't need a warranty card or receipt...you have it they'll take care of you...well, so the manual says. Hopefully, I won't have to find out. When I get to the range I'll give a follow up on ease of use (or not).

There is no recoil to worry about on a 22.
