Vortex Strike fire???

I got one for my SR-22 and ended up putting it on my CZ-858 for a time. Worked great, never fogged inside, never lost zero, and went through 1 batter in a year and 3 months.

I should add it will be on my SR22 but since its holding up after a SKS and a 9mm I dont see holding zero being a problem :)

Any one wanna sell theirs? hahha

So I went to wholesale last night, I was able to look at a strikefire, as well the guy showed my the vortex sparc aswell!

I already dropped too much money on a bunch if magpul gear at another shop last night, but I WILL be picking up a strikefire on pay day :)
Then I believe my SR22 will be done! I think..... lol

Edit: I should add that they both seem very well built! And the 3 moa dot is smaller than I thought it would be, the sparc is a 2 moa dot but I think its just too small of an optic in general for me!

I have no doubt its better but two things are stopping me from going with it, first, its really small and I think it would look even smaller mounted.
Second, is it worth the extra $50? Does it have aditional features the strijefire does not have?

Yes. The Sparc a brighter dot and a smaller dot. It has 4 height mounting options and is compatible with aim-point mounts. The strikefire uses a 30mm ring and comes with either a low or high mount. Thats it.

Is there any reason you would want a bigger-heavier sight on your gun? Smaller is less likely to get banged, dropped, or caught and gives you a better both-eyes-open view because there is less "black ring" from the sight's housing in your view.

I wasn't dissapointed with my StrikeFire. But I wound up selling it and getting a sparc that I liked better.

Well I do think they are both great sights, you have a valid point ad far as a bigger sight maybe getting banged or caught up more. To me... the strikefire is super light for its size, I just feel it might look better on my SR22 also seems it would have a better FOV than the sparc, im going to do some more research kn both of these before I jump into a purchase, plus I gotta wait more than a week before I have the cash so it gives me some time. I wonder if I can find a pic of a SR22 with both a sparc and a strike fire, I think that would help considerably.

Don't forget the Sparc has a 2x magnifier that comes with it. I've had one on an AR15 for 1000+ rounds so far and it's lots of fun. It's a solid bugger too.

I really dont wanna highjack but I posted in another thread and no answer. I have a strikefire and love it, but was wondering how distance accuracy works on a red dot. Strikefire has a 4moa dot. is it still 4moa @ 25 yards or 1moa?

It ok. The button controls are in a horrible place, and if you run and sling your gun, it will constantly be hitting the NV mode button which is a pain in the ass.
The 2x magnifier gives you a FOV of about a dime, which is kind of useless.

It's a poor mans aimpoint but it works well. If you are only ever benched or simply firing from a line it will be fine, but having it turn on and off in NV mode constantly while doing transitions and running it hard really turned it off for me.

If you ask me, the lucid HD7 is way more bang for your buck and does not have these issues for a lower cost aimpoint style red dot.

Having owned a strikefire for 2 years I can say there are better options. Its not that its a bad sight but a $130 Bushnell TRS-25 outperforms it by a good margin. First the glass on the SF is not very good. Its better than nc star but not $200 good. There's a lot of distortion to the outside and resolution is poor. The dot is too bright on the lowest setting for low light use and was my usual daylight setting. In low light the dot will flare and seem more like 8 moa. The resolution makes identifying your target difficult as the dot washes the background out. Accurate shots become crap shoots. In comparison the TRS has much nicer glass in low light, the dot goes a lot dimmer and resolution is great. Its also very small and light with a crisper 3 moa dot. The controls are to the right keeping your left eye's FOV clear unlike the giant control panel on the vortex sights. The vortex doubler reduces FOV to a tiny dime size hole and helps such a tiny amount that I never used it. I'll never buy another vortex, I think they're more hype than anything. The TRS-25 outperforms them for way less money.
