hey guys looking for feedback on the vortex diamondback? 4-12 x40 tactical model?

i got it for a 7 rem mag as first time dial scope to get the gist and play around with for a while.
ive been searching an found there is no zero stop which may be an issue if the rifles bumped?

any good or bad reviews about this for out to 500 meters with a 7 rem mag?

edit to say i have purchased the scope 2nd hand in new condition, initial searching mentiond it would be ok beginner scope for longer ranges

I purchased the 6-24x50 diamondback tactical to put on my Ruger RPR as my beginner PRS set up. I have run one single day prs match with it and a few practice runs plus a bunch of bench shooting at the range. So far so good for me. It dials with positive enough clicks that you don’t get lost and it has held up and kept zero through a bunch of back road driving and packing it around. I find that once you slip the rings the marks on the scop cap don’t line up exactly with the dot on the scope body which if you are not counting your clicks can cause a bit of “hmmmm is that 2.1 or 2.2???” But once you do it a few times you get it figured. My RPR is a 6mm Creedmoor so no where near the recoil of a 7mm rem mag but I have a regular diamondback on my hunting rifle which is a 7mm rem mag and it has held up fine so I wouldn’t worry to much. I’ve dialed out to 525 with it so far making first round hits so it seems to do ok with that

They are not the greatest scope by any means. But good enough for a beginner for sure. It will work fine for you until it doesn't.
