Hi folks,

I have a Ruger Precision Rifle + Vortex Viper HS 4-16x50mm. Looking online it looks like I need a 30mm High (someone can correct if I'm wrong).

With a $100 budget I see I can go with either Vortex Tactical or Vortex Viper scope mounts. Does anyone have a feedback on which one is better?

The Tactical model is $40 cheaper.

Dont cheap out on rings. The only good rings Vortex has are the Precision Matched Rings and they are made by Seekins Precision.

If You have a 100$ Budget get some EGW's or Warne. or used ATRS on EE

I wouldn't put those 30$ rings on my 10/22...

I’ve used basic rings that worked well, but Dilli is right. It stuns me how many people spent $K’s and cheap out on the last $200. Do or do not. Half ass is dumbass.

TPS rings are quite nice for the price, Brownells has them. There are very good rings available for $125-$150.

I assumed $100 was enough, as it didn't really look like paying almost 20% of the scope value on a small piece of metal was cheaping out...

So how much should I budget for the rings, or which model to get for this setup?

Thanks for the advice!

I skipped the ones I mentioned and followed you comment about the Precision Matched being the only good ones.
