Vortex Viper 4-16x44 LR for my Savage 93R17 btvs (heavy stainless thumbhole laminate)

I've chosen this Vortex scope as the one I want to put on my 17.

Any pro's and cons on this idea? It may in the future migrate to my 6.5x55 tikka but we will see.

It's $629 but I've held it, looked through it and I like it.

Well, yesterday I bought it. Amazing scope to put on a cool little rifle. Set it to 100 easily and then broke a bunch of clays there... Usually 3 or 4 holes through the centre which were easy to do and see before the clay broke.

Set out a bunch at 200 and it was just as easy putting the 2nd hash mark at the top of the clay or the third at the bottom.

I'm going to love this little gun... Who would have thought I would own a $1100 dollar rimfire/scope combo... But it sure is fun.

Going to be replacing my scope on my 17 with a Vortex, but I aint got that kind of cash to spend so it will only be a CrossFire II for me.

Ive bought a few vortex scopes. Just put a viper 3-9 on my hmr. Got a viper hs 4-16 on my 223. Both are great scopes.

My buddy has an $80 big magnification taco on his and it's more than night and day. His works, mine works much... awesome'er..

Yup I believe it. After owning a cheap ass bushnel banner I will never own cheap glass again. Its cheap for a reason

I have a Bausch and Lomb elite 3000 2-7 x 32 on my hunting rifle and it's a hell of a good hunting scope too... But I shoot deer less than 150 yards.

The Crossfire II is a damn good scope for anywhere near the money. Put a 4-12x50 on my TRR-SR and it works extremely well. A Viper is great, and I have a few, but it's not necessary on a rimfire at relatively close shooting distances. The glass is very clean.

I would totally put one of those on one of my .22's but I think from now on I'm going to buy cool scopes.

I just put a bushnell legend hd 4.5-14 x 44 on my 93r17 BTVLSS. Haven't tried it yet but I cannot tell the difference between the optic quality on it and my Elite. Not a vortex but definately nicer glass than any other I've looked thru @ $300 tax in. Congrats on your purchase.

I have a 4-12x50 3200 elite on my hm2. It is a nice scope but I don't find it as clear as my viper's

Here's where you screwed up..... If you never looked thru a viper you would still think the elite was awesome.

Just used my Viper 6.5-20x50 for the first time today. I've had a couple lower end scopes, and the difference is seriously noticeable. Vortex FTW, seriously impressed.
