Vortex Viper HS or Sightron SII?

Hey guys~my current .223 varmint rig wears a Vortex Viper HS 4-16x, but I'm finding in low light or hazy conditions (@ 16x) I don't think it's as crispy/clear as I'd like it to be. The eyes aren't getting any younger/better either! Having had a little experience with Sightron products now...I'm wondring if an SII would be much of an upgrade...or more of a lateral move? I've read glowing reports on the SIII, just not 100% sure I have the budget, or care for a 50mm obj. (I could get over that though)

Wondering if anyone with experience with both might have some insight.

I was in the same situation...I tried the HS, HS-T and PST. Sold all of them and got the Sightron SIII. The SIII have the 60mm objective which is better for my old eyes. Along the lines of HS pricing is the new line of Sightron STAC scopes. Here is the review from Mystic.
