Vortex Viper SG Enclosed on a 1895 Trapper

I actually like this but why hasnt there been any other videos made? it looks terrible on his lever because of the gun design but I dont think the Trapper would suffer the same. If I knew it would fit I might just jump at this...

Definitely get a Holosun. Vortex sells warranties... I currently own at least 5 Holosun optics, and have owned a bunch more (the only reason I do not have them is because I have upgraded everything to enclosed. I have never had a single failure with any of them. Every vortex I've own or tried has been a steaming pile.

I linked an article on the Vortex and if you scroll all the way to near the end of the article he mounts it to his Rossi 30-30 and Marlin 336.

When I get one and it'll be the multi reticle version, I know I can mount it to any of my shotguns should I choose.

Yes... I see the front metal portion of the Viper sticking up in the video...

So I have one on the way. The specs for both say that 3 screws should fit perfectly. I'll post piks and opinion.

I will. I had actually exchanged a few e-mails with Vortex before jumping in and buying this as I would have considered doing a full review with piks and video as I have websites and social media that can accomodate such... No luck! So I went about it on my own.

The reason I was so interersted in this is that I want to avoid the p-rail if at all possible. Right now this is the only route.

It was worth a try.

So... the Vortex Viper arrived today and was a very easy installation - four supplied screws. I was hoping it wouldn't protrude in the front but it does just a bit. Not sure whhether I am going to go with this or a p-rail and similar that sits back just a bit closer to my eye but...

I have to say the build of this is as simple as can be and so easy to get up and running. It has auto on/off, motion and ten settings for red dot brightness, along with a key thing for me which is that it is weatherproof. I was in the stand with a tarp over me in the rain/snow at minus temps this year. Here are a few piks... I think I will laser sight bore her in, fine tune and see how this feels then. Oh.. that dot sits right on top of that front rail if you so choose to keep it there.

GREAT... JUST GREAT... nothing good ever comes from posts and p**n pics such as these. I know where my tax refund money is going towards.

Thanks for the update!
