Vortex vs Burris! WHICH ONE DO I GET! first world problems...

I run a handful of Burris and like them for a cheaper scope, I think I have 4 in use now.
The diamond back was ok, not great the HP should be a bit fancier. I sold the diamondback and a Burris 4.5-14 and replaced them with Nikon Prostaff 5's and am very happy, a lot more scope but will be near the top of your budget. Check em out.

Nikon, Burris then vortex :)

I was going through this too not long ago. There was a burris fullfield e1 3-9x40, a diamondback 3-9x40, a Nikon 3-9x40(I cant remember the model but the price point was the same), and a bushnell elite 3500 3-9x40 that I was looking at. I ended up buying the burris but non really seemed to jump ahead of the rest. There is some size differences between them to be aware of. If you have a local store that will let you look through them you will probably form an opinion quickly on which one just feels right. Quality wise I don't think you can go wrong with any.

It would not be the Vortex for me. I really am not a fan of the crosshairs in the front focal plane for a hunting rifle.

I have used both the burris fullfield 11 and the Vortex diamondback and settked on the vortex. I found the gkass on the vortex to have better glass as far as clarity goes.

I need a scope for a new rifle. my main goal is to get a scope that doesn't have any "fish globe" distortion or bluryness around the edges, and will work with want i want to do with the scope. i will be hunting for deer and elk in both woods and prairie, and i would like to start long range shooting out to 600-1000 yards.

So i got 2 choices for each; a low range and a mid range model for each. My budget is $400, so do i spend it all on the better scopes or is it not worth paying extra over the baseline models??? which company would you go with??

Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 BDC for $260 (absolute cheapest scope out of the others, maybe i should get the AO model, not sure???)

Burris Droptine 4.5-14x42 for $285

Burris Predator Quest 4.5-14x42 $400 (top of my budget, is it worth it??)

Diamondback HP 4-12x42 BDC $430 (top of my budget plus a bit. Is it worth it? seems like these scopes have the best glass, but $200 better???)

Vortex or burris, low end or mid end? WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I know this is off topic, but I'd way leopold for 2 reasons... Better quality of glass for the money than vortex to be sure, and the warranty/modification center is in Okotoks...
