I have one sitting here in front of me buy cant fine any usefull info on line. Does anyone know anything about this .22LR? Did i mention it weigh's in at 16 pounds! I will try for pics this weekend.
I got your Strela right here pal!
double set triggers, adjustable butt stock, super cleaning kit, and a set of sights that are fantastic.
I have the gun set up here with the scope however, but the front sight elevates as well as the rear, and it comes with a great adjustable iris.\This gun came into my possession from my older brither , who used to joke that the Russian weight lkifting team used to train with them!!
Yup, it is HEAVY!!!
The bolt is a three lug affair, and in comparison, is bigger than the lugs on a Sako TRGS bolt
Its a strela-3
The front sight is bigger than the one on the rifleman site & the one posted.
Have the entire set of sights & original cleaning kitas well as the manual's.
Beats the hell out of me. I just borrowed it to take to my sons Cadets shooting team. You know to give the kids an idea what ELSE is out there besides the old Anschutz & .22 converted Enfields the have now.
The gun owner said it will put 5 rounds on a dime at 50 yards with good ammo & depending how steady your hand is. I would be happy if i could hit a pop can at that range. LOL
I have an mts-12 (cut down with scope) and its the most accurate rimfire I have ever shot. Will do little tiny groups with laupa master m ammo. I suspect this strela will do the same.
Well their is a 6" section of the barrel just in front of the breach that is a little thicker than the rest of the barrel. Less than 1/8" high, you can kinda see it in the pic.
Is this what you mean?k
Yes, if you look under the stock, there will be one of two bolt... that's what hold the barrel/action in place. If I remember correctly, the part under the barrel is flat.
I remember a thread about rimfire bolts
where catnthehatt posted some pics of that gun's massive bolt lugs.
It's been almost 5yrs, but the image of that behemoth
(compared side-by-side with a Sako 338 Lapua Mag)
that image stayed with me.
