Since the cz 858 family will be prohibited, will this eeffect the csa vz58? Sorry if it's a dumb question
 
Not according the this bill......another member posted that when you VZ 58 breaks down.....you will wish you had a CZ.....i don't buy it though.....the VZ 58 is a awesome rifle

My old VZ I replaced with a CZ. Atlest my CZ wont cost me hundreds in repairs. You think i'm the only one? Your wrong.


Hope you got money to fix it when it breaks.

The VZ is now a $1400.00 plus rifle and its caused me more issues then my $700 type 97.
 
The CSA's dont have the space in the receiver for the automatic fire components. Meaning that they have been developed from the ground up as PURELY a semi automatic firearm ONLY. The CZ's on the other hand are made off from modified surplus automatic receivers, hence why the RCMP decided they were prohibited.

This is my understanding of it anyways.... i may be wrong.


As for CSA breakages, Ive yet to experience one. Fingers crossed tho haha!
 
The receiver on a CSA is different, it's slightly thicker, to accommodate being drilled and tapped for a side mount, and has specifically been manufactured to prevent modifications that allow full auto. I don't believe it would be possible to label it a Cz variant, but stupider things have happened (cough cough, SVD=AK variant)

CanadianBaconPancakes They have a 5 year unlimited warranty, couldn't you have sent it to North Sylva? My ejector shifted after a REALLY bad round of Chinese steel cased stuff damaged it, I sent it to NS and sent an email to CSA, got the gun back a month later, works like a charm.

Early guns did have some heat treatment issues in the receiver, but that was resolved.

I think a whole can of 'stupid' has been opened by the new legislation and more changes to come.

Mine was over gassed and have gone through 3 bolts and bolt carrier and a bent gas piston. Mine is a 2014. It seems to break a bolt every 1000 ish rounds so far replaced by CSA. I decided to F the warrantee and now have all surplus parts in mine so we will see. I question CSA’s metallurgy and tempering practices. Movie arms attempted to fix the overgasing as the casings used to launch into space. They still seem to launch several meters away. The gun runs good and have probably 3000 rounds through it. I think the surplus bolts are better and the one I am using seems slightly different designed than the CSA ones.
