Vudoo coming,others going.

One of the main reasons grauhanin for cleaning shop is the multiple ammo I was shooting out of the multiple of guns, consistently inconsistent by bouncing around.that being said,I had a brick of pistol match that shot a .6 3 out of 6 at a hundred yards in the 1761,but the next lot of it,nope.and couldn't find that original lot number anywhere. I think in canada it is hard to buy a similar lot number after you find one your gun likes, more times then not you can't even get the same brand because it is sold out.

When TSP introduced the Remington Eley Match, four lots were tested in my Remington 40XB.
Three lots had a published velocity of 1062 and the one selected has produced great groups and wins.
All were tested without the tuner and once selected the tuner was re-installed.
The setting has not been changed for 50 or 100.
Over time probably two cases of that lot number have been purchased.
While used in the Coopers and the 10/22 target rifle, specific testing in all rifles is necessary.
My testing is 5 10-shot groups at 100 yards. Some tests were abandoned after three targets.
Communicating with your supplier eliminates problems later when that lot is no longer available.

I have a Vudoo single shot with the 22" Ace Kukri contour barrel. I bought it off a great guy here on CGN (Thanks Gilbert) Very pleased with the rifle.

Which barrel did you choose for your Vudoo?

Hey Rod,
Since I sold you the V22S, I got such a case of sellers remorse that I bought another one. This kind of behavior is not a first time for me - lol.
I have to say that the Vudoo is a very well built and incredibly accurate rig. That being said, I have a few 54 Annies and it is very hard to tell which is the more accurate rifle: Vudoo or Anschutz. Glenn would say that ammo is a very important part here and he is very much right.
Gilbert

Hi Gilbert, I have very similar thoughts about the Vudoo, it is indeed an incredible rifle. However it is a very close call as to accuracy between it & my Remington 40XB, Anschutz 2007, Walther KKM UIT & my two Martini Internationals. I think as you & Glenn say a lot is to do with the ammunition & of course how steady the shooter can hold on any given day.

I also have a Tikka T1X that on a good day can get close to the accuracy of the above mentioned rifles.

Went to range yesterday with the vudoo ,it was -8 out and and all I can say is I really enjoy shooting this gun(except for the guy with the lead sled and muzzle breaked big banger next to me)it shot like a dream,I have never had a trigger like this, plus the balance of the firearm allowed me to put 8 shots in .3 at 50 with sk biathlon sport, then stretched out to hundred and it was solid, but had to quit not because of cold but because of my lead sled muzzle breaked big banger next to me and the sonic boom it created.

Oldly..Forgive me if I missed it but did you finish up with a 2 lug or a 3 lug repeater?
As nice as the 1761 is, the Vudoo offerings are much easier to shoot well supported and with the range of triggers available for the V22, you can't really go wrong.
I have several thousand on my 2 lug - Just faultless in operation and very accurate. Have only just set up the 3 lug but first indications are that the 20" MTU Bartlein will be equally as good!

Allan it is the 2 lug,20"mtu barrel with a diamond trigger set at 10 Oz, ya it is built to sit solid and sturdy on a bench which makes it very comfortable to shoot.be interesting if I could get some one inch groups at a 100 yards.tomorrow there is no wind but will be minus 18,going to give it a walk with sk biathlon sport.im not sure what 20 inch mtu barrel I have,no writing on it except 22lr stamped on it.is the 3 lug much different.

Most Vudoo barrels can be identified by removing the action and looking underneath where barrel joins receiver. There will either be an A indicating Ace or a B for Bartlein.

The expression what ever floats your boat comes to mind the, classics of a Annie to the precision fit and finish of a V22 I can honestly say I’ve just about had or handled every well built by reputation 22lr known to man, least it feels that way.
Ya can’t go wrong with the Annie but once you bin there you move on and man I regret some that I sold absolutely tight shooters but my addiction proves I’m weak thus selling and moving on I always said I’d keep everything that shot under .3s consecutively well I’d be bankrupt by now there has bin some great stuff through my hands.
Ever since I seen the V22 come through shot show I had a hunch these guys built a product that was going to stand the industry on its ear well I was correct I’ve watched these guys grow and prove them selves amongst the top rank shooters and come out on top or at least stand with the best.
My wife and oldest son purchased one for me and I now stand along side of the many to understand what there all about and that’s true harmonics it just feels great to shoot after sighting in the optics and a little lube in the barrel at 25 shots I shot three in a row everything under .106 @50m I’m not bragging but it speaks for it self! Own one…they just seam to work very well and with a variety of ammo.
(I will own another.)
My V22 build V22 360 18inch MTU, chassis MDT XRS Timney elite 30MOA rail topped off with a 12-42 x36 nightforce optic.

Ya there is something about shooting them that just feel right, can't explain it but you have alot of confidence when pulling the 4 Oz trigger lol,I have not owned many and I'm 60 now,but I was a single parent putting my son through life and hockey .but making up for it now lol.

You have fine taste in Firearms, and I am not sure which one will outshoot the other.Depends on you, ammo, and weather, and other things too.If it were me I would keep my favorite, among the ones you are selling, as they are heirloom quality.Variety is nice, as well as knowledge about one gun.

I used to have several 22lr rifles, but I sold them all, and replaced them with a Vudoo, and I couldn't be happier. The Vudoo is at least as accurate at my 54 Anschutz and Fortner rifles, but I am actually more comfortable shooting it, especially in the field.

Was out 2 day, 2 mph wind -10c and decided 2 shoot 20 at a hundred yards of eley team, the group was .8 this after shooting 2x5 .25 groups at 50.i don't think .8 is something that can be duplicated that often.im finding with 22lr 1.2 is more the average because of the inconsistency in 22lr ammo production.for me I shoot about 15 and pull out the 2 farthest shoots then measure the group and then decide if it's a keeper.because the chance of getting a 3x10 shot groups under an inch or even 2 for that matter is not that easy, even if you have a shooter.so I settle for 9 out of ten or you go nuts.so a 20 shot .8 group is a keeper.but when weather is right I'm going for the 5x5 quarter inch at 50 with this vodoo, this lot of team is going to get it for me lol.

While I will never chastise you for your good taste in rimfire I went the other way. I didn’t/don’t have the resources or time to find or test lots of ammo that worked best in each rifle, especially my high end ones (54’s and v22’s). So I noticed only subtle differences in accuracy, and as Gandalfe suggested neither, under these parameters, shot any better than the rest. So am keeping what felt the best and shot the best for me… my Annie 54. Sorry vudoo you just ain’t this slick.

Enjoy. Do what works for you.

SCG.

I think if someone gave me a 54 I might keep it over a v22,I never shot a 54 or seen one up close in the wild.you never know, one thing is for sure tunnel vision,is not me.
