Vudoo v22 20” mtu barrel

Just got my second barreled action. Was worried it would be too front heavy. Even in my bravo chassis I can easily old it steady for off hand shooting. My 18” kukri barreled action is up for sale and perfectly balanced in a bravo chassis and light enough to be a hunting rifle and target rifle in one. Can’t go wrong on these babies. Anybody have their v22 from the second batch? My 18” kukri barreled action from the first batch has a much smoother feeling bolt when working the bolt, compared to my second barreled action i just received. It’s not just cuz of break in. The first one was smoother than this second one from the get go.

I’m sure it gets smoother. My first one was smoother from the start than this second one. I would say kukri is the best contour. It’s plenty thick and balances much better than than the mtu. Mtu is only for chassis or special inlet. The reason I got one with mtu barrel is simply to try and match my 223 mtu build. Kukri is more like a heavy varmint target barrel, it can be dropped into like any target or hunting stock I think. I gotta sell one tho but everybody wants some sort of huge discount on something brand new and not exactly just another cabelas rifle. I wanna get some sk ammo for mine

Did both actions have melonite and cerakote treatments?
Keep us posted on how the SK ammo shoots. Looking forward to the report.

Re the smoothness difference between the two actions is a result of the lack of cerakote on the second one?.....ok, I just noticed the inside of action was only melonite, so guess that's not the treatment then.

So much to choose from coatings/treatments these days, it's getting hard to choose. When, and if I can get the $$ for one, I'm going w melonite action and ss 22" bbl. Still not 100% sure which stock yet.

Yep. One thing for sure is always go with Melonite or dlc coating. Hardens the surface too. The one I have with cerekote in all honestly loooks better than the one without cerekote. Just has a nicer appearance and finish to it I guess. With ace barrels you can go to 22” length and bartlein barrels up to 20” length form what I remember. Both just as accurate tho.

You should see how smooth they are after 1200+ rounds! At this rate I'm guessing I'll have over 4000 rounds through by the time I get busy with harvest in August so the action should only get smoother. My suggestion to you Mike is to find a lot that your rifle likes, buy about 3000 or 4000 rounds, and giver....

Unfortunately I did not know about the MTU otherwise I would have definitely went in that direction. I was led to believe the Kukri was the heaviest at that time....

Mine is the same, supper smooth now that I've ran 1,150 rounds through.

What are you guys finding to shoot the best? Mine seems to like SK Std Plus.
