For those that have tried both, does your Vudoo out shout your Anschutz? Or other way around. My only personal knowledge is I like my Anschutz but know of one that had a very good shooting Anschutz but sold it after getting a Vudoo. His statement was it shot better. Your experience please. Thanks.

I stopped shooting my Anschutz 1913 for a Vudoo single shot mostly because the new rifle has a left port to load into. This makes it very quick to shoot and allows me to use the calm times to get better scores.

My shooting has improved with the new rifle, but not by a huge amount.

.

I have both, Vudoo 360 and an Anschutz 1712. I like the Vudoo more (both are nice rifles)I think because it feels like a full size rifle and yes the Vudoo will out shoot the Anschutz.

It's virtually impossible to say which one shoots better than the other. Why?

First (and keeping it simple), in general not all models of Anschutz rifles will shoot equally well. There are a variety of reasons for this but suffice it to say that single shot Anschutz 54 models, for example, will on average shoot better than Anschutz repeaters. Perhaps the same is true of the Vudoo rifles, the single shot and repeater models. A shooter looking at deciding between Anschutz and Vudoo would do well to clearly understand the purpose of the rifle, for what it will be used. That may help inform the decision.

Second, not all Anschutz barrels will shoot equally well. The same is just as true of barrels on Vudoo rifles. Some barrels are better or worse than others, but fortunately the majority will be average for that make of barrel.

Third, and perhaps most important, is ammo selection. No rifle will outshoot the ammo it's given. In other words, the rifle can't make the ammo do what it can't do. Give it inconsistent ammo and there will be flyers. The rifle can't fix ammo problems.

If someone was to compare two makes of rifles head-to-head, he would have to ensure that the best ammo was used for each rifle. Without doing that, the exercise would be just as pointless as comparing two allegedly good runners, one of whom is sick but you don't know which one.

What do you want to do with the rifle?

Some logical wisdom here. Often shooters will spend big on a rifle and cheap out in the ammo. It is a false economy.

A little clarification, it was a 54 in a very nice BR stock. Using 10x ammo. I was impressed as he was shooting better than I can. I’m not sure on Vudoo model but was bench it as well. Was just looking at you guys views. I have an old 54 that I can’t out shoot so it a non issue to me.

I have both and a well built 10/22 will shoot circles around both of them. Save a ton of cash and build yourself a 10/22 clone.

A comparison of Anschutz and Vudoo results at 100 yards is available on the .22LR 100 yard challenge thread on this forum. See also the makes of rifles that have successfully completed the 1/2" at 50 challenge on CGN, keeping in mind that the latter's 2013 beginning predates the arrival of Vudoo rifles in Canada by about five years. (If a plug for both challenges can be forgiven, if you have a good shooting rifle, give them a try.)

Having pointed to them, however, it always must be remembered that it's virtually impossible to meaningfully compare two rifles, even a well-built 10/22, without both being shot in identical conditions with the best ammo that can be found for each rifle. There are no short cuts to achieving top rate rimfire accuracy.

I had a RimX for a while. It shot just as good as any out there, but I had and itch, and that itch needed to be taken care of.

I now shoot an Annie 1727, Fortner action. I would have to say it is more fun to shoot it than a standard bolt action. Accuracy is just as good, as I was printing 1/2” groups at 100m the other day. Today it was used to reach out to 300m.

As stated above, ammo is the biggest factor. Some rifles don’t even like some of the lots of the expensive stuff, so it gets convoluted fast.

I have owned a single shot Match 54, a 1907R , a 54MS-R, and a 1927 Fortner, before my Vudoo. Overall, the Vudoo has been the easiest to shoot small groups with, probably more due to the trigger and stock design, than anything else. The 54 MS-R, was the least accurate, and the 1927 was the easiest Anschutz to shoot small groups with.

In the last few years, I have had several Vudoos ( both single shot and repeaters ) and several Anschutz ( both single shot and repeaters ). At the moment, I have 2 Anschutz single shot and a Vudoo 360 repeater. So I consider I have quite an experience on that matter. The best answer to op's question has been given by Glenn ( Grauhannen ). In sum, it is an impossible question to answer. Kind of: Which high end sports car is the best, Lamborghini or Ferrarri ?. Too many variables to consider. That being said, both Anschutz and Vudoos are very accurate rifles but, a different shooting experience.
For me: I like to have both in my gun safe. Some days I feel like driving the Ferrarri, other days I want to take out the Lambo...

10-4 to that Gilbert. I've had the same experience with my rifles. Sums it up pretty good.

Soooo did you sell the Vudoo or pull it off the EE. I was kindah shocked since you had mentioned you had shot your best group ever with it. With your experience thats a big deal in my opinion. I was looking forward to further testing reports. Cheers

Hi Longstud,
I did not sell it. I may have too many rifles ( like some of you ), but I just cannot sell this one...

I have never seen a 10/22 clone win any 22rf Bench rest or 3P matches in the past when I shot competed , or even in the top five.
You must have a couple of really bad rifles and an anomoly in that 10/22!
