Likely been beaten to death on here but I need a scope for my Tikka .22-250 and want one in 4-12 magnification. Both these scopes are in the price range I'm looking at. Pros n cons on each please

I prefer the 3200 but mostly because of the price difference. In my humble opinion they are pretty dead even in the optics and quality departments. I'm sure you will get a pretty even array of opinions on this.
 
Take a look ar the Redfield Revolution 4X12X40 with Accurange reticle, pretty awsome for 235.00... JP.
 
I have a VX2 4-12x40 AO with LRD duplex on my Sako m75ss 243.....LOVE IT.

Most of scopes are VX3's but I have the above VX2 and two Vari-X III's from years ago mounted on a couple other Sako rifles....all have been great scopes.

IMO, go with the VX2 over the VX1, either the 4-12 or mybe the 6-18 for your 22-250. I have a 6.5-20x40AO on my Sako 22-250.

Maybe a Bushnell 5-15x40 would be a good one.

I've owned both models. I found optical clarity wise they are comparable. The 3200 was a little heavier, but also had the finger adjustable zero with clicks while the VX-1 does not. FYI, Wholesale Sports has Leupold scopes on sale right now and a VX-1 can be had for around $200 to $260... that is if they have the model you want stock. :evil:
 
if you are looking at a 4-12x40 why not go with a Vortex diamondback (retail around $225) or for all the bells and whistles get a Viper with side parallax. Vortex has the best warranty in the business if you ever need it. The featues in bang for the buck knock the socks off both the VX-1 and the 3200.
