VX2 or VX3: Classic Question With a Twist

So I bought Remington 7615 a couple of weeks ago and am loving it. My main complaint is the short distance between the front and rear sight does not lead to an accurate sight picture.

No problem, I'll just have to put optics on it.

I like the idea of the low power variable scopes,

The VX2 comes in a 1-4x20 variation
The VX3 comes in a 1.5-5x20 variation

So which would you recomend, is the slight difference in lower end magnification going to slow down my target acquisition, and make it harder for two eye targeting, or is the better clarity and brightness going to be advantageous?

When in doubt with optics, go with the more expensive. Personally, I don't care for the lowest power variables at all.Mine always seemed to be left on the top power, and wishing for a bit more.

7615 Tac with VXIII 1.5-5 Ill reticle, perfect for what I use it for. Has Leupold dual dovetail one piece base and dd 30mm rings.

Got to take a look at the vx3 today, beautiful scope, clear as a bell and awesome sight picture. However being cross eye dominant makes me believe that I'd use it like a normal rifle scope and close my other eye, I could get on target with binocular vision but would have to wink to confirm and to fine tune. Tried a Trijicon 1-4x the other night at the range and didn't have this problem but I feel that spending $800 plus rings on a scope is a little beyond practical. I'm leaning to the VX2 but haven't got to actually touch it yet.

Got to look through a Bushnell 4200 Elite 1.25-4x24 with illuminated reticle the other day how do you guys feel it would compare to the leupold VX II 1-4x20. The bushnell was low powered enough that I could easily use it with Binocular vision unlike the VX3 which I was having problems with. My concerns are the shorter eye relief (3.3" compared to 3.9"), the less becoming warranty and service work, as well as the price tag (coming close to a non illuminated VX3).

So How does everyone feel about Trijicon scopes (not the acogs)? Took another look through the Trijicon 1-4x but I haven't heard many reviews on them or on Trijicon's warranty/service. Love the illuminated dot, but it's hard to say how it would look while shooting in the dark/shadows.
