Ran one on a CZ 550 in .416 Rigby loaded to near Weatherby levels for quite awhile. It was good for that purpose, and I couldn’t break it and not from lack of trying. Tube is short enough that mounting issues can arise on some rifles. Decent enough scope I guess, can’t complain.

I sold it with the rifle eventually because:
1) The guy wanted it.
2) I never could figure out what magical thing I was supposed to be able to do at 1.75 power in a 1.75-6 that I couldn’t do with 2.5 power in a 2.5-8.
 
I have no experience with the 3i, but I have a couple of Vari-x and VX-3 in 1.75-6, they're nice little scopes. Short tubes as Dogleg pointed out, best used on short actions, with offset rings, or a rail.
 
well thats good to hear- seeing as it is to be on the Ruger ! 35 whelen will be primary focus- i did read about eye relief.... an thought as worst, a great 22lr scope / 7.62x39 even.

but yeah, lets hope it turns up in the mail, i got it for a bloody bargain persay .... but its got to arrive first !?
