VX3 toughness?

So like..... I just bought a new in box Leupold VX3 today... At WSS @ their sale.

I open the box. Take a peek... Close said box... And now its on the counter......

...girlfriend moves said box so she can make room for the cutting board so she can start prepping dinner.....


Now I almost have a heart attack... She lifts the box but didn't know the top slides off.. But on a angle.. So it all holds together until its 5 to 6 inches off the counter.....it all falls out.. Scope is in the neoprene cover... Hits the counter top.... Rolls over towards floor... Where she catches it against the cupboard door half way down by pressing the one side of the box against it to the lower cupboard door.....


she looks up at me almost in tears. Lol. I look it over and I found no dents or anything out of order..... And assure her it was my bad for leaving it there.

So not being a beating from recoil.. But a whack on two surfaces... Should I be worried?

No, it'll be fine I'm sure. Leupold's can take a pounding.

You're a good person to forgive so readily. If it'd been my room-mate I'd have had a thing or two to say. And possibly a swift kick in the ass!

The VX-3 should be fine. If it gives you any trouble, remember Korth in Okotoks (south of Calgary) is your service center!

ya it didnt fall too far... and it was in the neoprene cover... Next time i will move a new scope straight to the man room away from others reach, lol

I'm sure the Leupold will be fine. If it can handle the recoil from a .375 H&H, I'm sure it can survive falling a few feet onto a counter top.

But I should have given a warning when posting it. Bad language and small children and all that.

It will be fine, mount it on your rifle and go shooting.

It's fine. That type of "bumping" is nothing compared to the recoil of a rifle. I'd say the only damage would be cosmetic. Lucky it was in the cover!

Went to P&D on the weekend...got it all mounted up in Burris Zee Signature rings... Sure looks good!
