VXIII 2.5-8X or Zeiss Conquest or ???Swaro???

The rifle is a pre -64 win M70 in a Mcmillian G&H stock with a 24 inch barrel. Not a light weight or heavy weight - just average. I'm going to see if the zeiss will mount in the low talley rings; the vxIII will but not sure about the ocular of the zeiss.

Actually the vxiii 3.5x10x40 and the 3x9x40 conquest are almost identically priced.
Thanks and that is exactly my point, why pay that kind of money for a lesser scope. The Conquest scopes are a price point scope in Germany.

They are a price point scope here too. Look, you can get a Zeiss scope for the price of a _________ ! It's like buying a BMW 320i, which is not quite the same as an M5, but it is still a "BMW".

Brian 46, who has the Diavari, has a real Zeiss, which, like the M5, is far superior. :D

The 320i does not have all the options and equipment that are used on the m5,but it is still made with better quality components and to much higher standards than a ford,a dodge or a gmc.

The Conquest line is made in the US. They are fine scopes have one mounted on my 300 WBY and really like shooting the gun. Love the eye relief and kick the crap out of a VX II I have on another rifle.

Having bought scopes mail order before, there is really something to be said for availability of repairs and service. When you start sending stuff back and forth to other countries, waiting months on end, and pissing around with customs and "customer service" people who don't know the meaning of the words, the "best" scope takes on a whole new meaning.

The best products in the world, wether they be scopes, or cars, are quickly rendered useless when the damn thing breaks and you can't get it fixed!! Not unless you really enjoy grief and agrivation, but as a gun owner, don't we already get enough of that?!?

Long story short, Leupold works just fine.
