Ive been looking at a Vz.24 for a little while, seemingly unrefurbished, vg+ condition, ceskoslovenska zbrojovka BRNO on receiver ring, matching with an excellent bore. I know the refurbs are running around $400 retail now, what would be a fair price for what I assume to be a Czech issue rifle?

I also have to ask about the bluing of certain parts, such as the bolt and bayonet mounting lug, am I right in saying these parts may or may not have been blued depending on the production date? I have to add that the rear sight has the earlier stylized numbers, if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance, Kman

Original matching VZ24's are not easy to find and I've seen them on the EE for 800 plus. Whether the sellers are getting that or not, I'm not sure. There was one that sat for quite a while at 1200 I think. Not sure what that one eventually sold for.

Bolt should be in the white and probably the bayo lug but I don't know enough about the small details like that to be certain.

Pictures? I'd love to see it.

Earlier this year I traded an original matching vz. 24 (1926) for about $850 in value if that helps. I've seen them sell recently for 700-850 and I would (and have) pay that. There aren't many around but they don't have the collector base of German stuff.

If you are looking for a shooter, non matching guns are just fine. A 308 Israeli k98 would also be a good bet also. more ammo around for them

Yeah, there are quite a few VZ 24's around but the vast majority are mismatched arsenal refinished rifles. Value around $350-$400 for one of those and they are fine for a shooter. But all matching original finish VZ24 rifles, Czech issue or German modified for Wehrmacht service are hard to find. Value for an original in good condition would be $700-$800 in my area.
