Would like to get a couple more - anyone know who carries them?

Is my fav x39, great gun to shoot.

Well it is a semi auto rifle. So the mags designed for it are all pinned to 5 rounds. The original 10 rounders need to be pinned to 5, or else they are prohib.

Nope. Just the ten rounders were original. Some have tried to modify mags but it seems hit and miss.

OK thanks - any idea on availability? I never seem to come across any 52/57's at the gun shows anymore let alone mags. Saw one the other day at my local gun shop sitting forlornly on the shelf and brought it home. Otherwise have never seen another available.

Can the 762x39 mags be modified to 762x45? I can't find any in 7.62x45 but they do pop up in 39. for some reason I seem to remember that they are the same mags only the 762x39 has spacer 2 makeup for the shorter round but I could be wrong (trying to think back 25 years or so).

In my experience VZ-52 (7.62X45) mags are more common than the VZ-52/57 (7.62X39). I'd certainly trade them one-for-one.

I have looked for years and have found only one spare mag with regular capacity for the 52/57, never seen a larger mag or even anyone advertise one. Let us know if you ever do, it would be nice to know.

Thanks for the info, I was afraid of that. I have seen the odd mag show up for the 7.62x39 show up at the Edmonton gun show, but not the 7.62x45. I'll keep trying and maybe get lucky

I have seen a pic of a 40 round mag in a VZ52. I don't know where I saw it though and the pic said it was a very rare mag.

I have three mags for my Vz 52/57, one cut down to 5 the other two pinned at 5.

The longer mags make changes easier since you have something to grip while doing it. The cut down almost looks like there is no mag in the well.

They are super tough though and should last a while, if you can find them.
