Lifelong friend of mine bought a VZ 52/57 from the Montreal surplus company back around 1980, as I recall maybe International... I know it's 7.62x39 and has the bayonet like that, so I believe must be a 52/57. The gun may be unfired, I recall it looks that way and he hasn't fired it. I may be able to get it on trade from him and am looking to know fair value range assuming I've identified it correctly. Thanks in advance for knowledgeable comment, including if it could be other than a 52/57, I am sure about the cal and bayo and my recollection matches 52/57 photos.

IIRC - I paid $700+ for a very very nice 52/57 over a year ago. The question that is also relevant to the value is number of magazines ... they tend to be one of the more difficult types to find.

If you buy it and shoot it you might be pleasantly surprised.
Mine is much more accurate than I expected and is a very smooth working rifle.
Empty cases extract to the same spot with every shot and it's more accurate than my best SKS.
